Frequntly Asked Questions

Why choose us?
As experienced photojournalists and portrait photographers, we offer a distinctive shooting style that balances both creative, candid images with natural, traditional portraiture. Our photographers approach each event with a fresh eye. Your personalized vision and our 25 years of professional experience combine to produce images that are truly exceptional.

Why do we shoot with film and digital?
We find the quality of custom prints made from true black and white and color film is unique and beautiful. Tonal range, especially skin tones, gives images a classic and genuine look. However, we also love the versatility of digital especially in retouching and in the many online options available. We think our clients get the best of both worlds as we scan all our negatives into hi-resolution digital files.

Will I own my negatives and digital files?
Yes. We retain no copyright and our clients are free to use their negatives/digital files any way they want. Though some of our clients create their own albums, thank you cards, etc., we do offer a wide range of albums, custom printing, digital retouching, and many other professional high-end options available only by using our services.

My event is different. Can I personalize my package?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves on providing only the service you need. No two events are alike and we are pleased to personalize your package to reflect your unique vision, style and budget.

Will I meet the photographer I choose before the event?
Yes, you are hiring a person not just a company and it is very important you know your photographer and that he or she knows you. We want you to be completely comfortable with your photographer as you develop a personal relationship.

Do your photographers come with an assistant?
Non-shooting assistants help our photographers in a variety of ways with equipment, portraits etc. They also help to keep the event running smoothly.

Do I need a second photographer?
Depending on your event, we sometimes recommend that you hire a second photographer who can shoot simultaneously as the main photographer. For example, the second photographer can cover cocktails while the main photographer shoots your portraits. Two photographers can provide multiple points of view of important moments and enhance coverage of your service. We suggest talking this over with us as you make your plans.

What happens if my photographer gets sick?
This is a highly unlikely event that would have to be a catastrophic. However. If your photographer is unable to shoot your event, with your approval, we will provide a comparable photographer either from our staff or from our network of professional photographers.

What area do you cover?
Though many of our events are in the tri state area and New England, our photographers have shot events nationally and internationally. As destination weddings become more popular, we have found ourselves traveling to Greece, St John, Wyoming, Virginia, Charleston, Washington D.C., the Adirondacks and many other beautiful spots.
